Review with them in advance about computer and discuss options available
Ensure time to set up and validate all basic software installed on machine BEFORE they start
For developers, this will include but not be limited to SSMS and Visual Studio Pro/Enterprise
For CEF developers this will include installing and validating relevant products are installed and working as local as well (CEF, Connect, etc.)
For all team members, this will typically include chrome, Office Suite and VPN software
Install security software (Malwarebytes)
Install backup/file sync software (One drive for example)
Review installation of additional software and use of machine
Note that for shared development environments we request approval before making changes since software is shared (Remote Desktops, etc.)
Equipment
Ensure they know they can specifically order items they prefer for keyboard, mouse, etc.
Reference existing office inventory of items for roles that will likely be less picky about these resources
Desk
Discuss with the team and determine desk location and ensure clean and tidy before they start
Discuss with nearby teammates so they are planning for and expecting to help the new team member get up to speed and answer "Hey... can you help me with..." questions
This is ideally going to be with the new team member's manager/lead
This needs to have an agenda and typically will include their task items and discussion about perceived performance and issues/blockers as well as an actual review by the manager/lead to confirm and share feedback
Subject matter introduction meetings
This is going to be a series of meetings with key leaders within the team who will cover planned agenda items

Operations
Project Management
Back end development
Front end development
Dev Ops

These will need to be recorded and provided to the new team member as a reference so they can re-review and access the valuable meeting content throughout their first few months
Ensure weeklies are happening and there is an expectation for them to engage and initiate these weeklies
Reinforce the (typical) need to put in a significant amount of time upfront to become familiar with the role and execute on the requirements for the role
The business functions based on Clients who expect a certain delivery for a reasonable cost/within a reasonable timeline
All of the roles within the business revolved around delivery for Clients and this has to be a constant thought process - ensuring we're each delivering high value
Begin weaning off of "new hire" mentalities and encourage independent thought and effort with check-ins to validate
Overall begin working with the new team member to plan out a formal career path within Clarity and engage appropriate team members to learn and grow within that path
Setup training and resources as well as generally discussing and working on plans for moving them in the right direction while executing on key tactical objectives within the business
