The Project CVI - Needs Reallocation is a field that employees can use to add their time into Easy Projects in the instance that they do not have access to the proper line item in a project. However, this should be the last resort of adding time. Please be sure to follow the process below whenever possible:
- Check to see if you have already been added to the Project's correct line item
- If you are not sure which line item to associate your time to, be sure to ask the Project Manager.
- If you are not added to the Project at all, please consult the Project Manager and let them know that you have not been added to the project in EP.
- Your PM should be able to quickly add you into the Project if they are available.
- Allow your PM at least an hour to respond to your request as they may be in meeting(s).
- If your PM is unavailable or not able to add you onto the Project in EP the same day you may use the CVI - Needs Reallocation project and line item to associate your time. Please include the following requirements in each EP entry for Needs Reallocation as each is vitally important for accurate hours budgeting for our clients
- Date
- Time
- Client Acronym or Name (preferably both)
- The description of what was done and the feature you were working on.
- The more details you can provide the easier it is to associate the time correctly.
Along with this information please observe the following best practices:
- Always make sure you include the Name/Acronym of the Client
- Always make sure to include the feature you're working on
- Always check with your PM and your associated Projects BEFORE adding items into Needs Reallocation.
- If you are entering a line item to support or as a working session with another employee the PM should be notified once the assistance is complete. It is expected that all of the information used in that session will be important for anyone working on this project in the future.
- The PM should always be notified of what the help was, why the help was needed, and how to prevent the issue in the future. This is important for hours budgeting and knowing the state of the project. Tribal knowledge is as good as no knowledge.
