The content of this article is intended to assist with guiding proper allocation of time spent by the CORE team/Pod-C to the correct line item in Easy Projects (EP). The Overarching Project these line items are tied to is "CVI-CEF". As with the platform itself, these line items are subject to change depending on evolution of the function and goals of the CEF platform, as well as the company as a whole. Please take last modified date into consideration when using this article as a guide for logging your time. Please present any questions, concerns, and/or suggestions to Eric Weathers and/or Preston Olman, vs making changes to the article.
18987 BA Training time for CEF
- This line item should be utilized by individuals in the BA Position/Team (incl. Sr/Jr BAs)
- This line item should be used to allocate hours for training sessions on the features, functionality, UI/UX, etc. related to any/all editions of the CEF B2B/B2C CORE platforms.
20245 Backlog Working Sessions
- This line item should be utilized by Operations members within the CORE Team.
- This line item should be used to allocate hours spent in working sessions of two or more individuals, where action items/tasks are carried out/completed.
18117 CEF – Plugins
- This line item should be utilized by Development members within the CORE Team.
- This line item should be used to allocate hours spent on development tasks related to various Plugins utilized by the CEF platform.
18855 CEF – Selenium
- This line item should be utilized by Development and QA members within the CORE Team.
- This line item should be used to allocate hours spent on development/QA tasks related to various Selenium Testing ran against the various functionality of the CEF platform.
20289 CEF-D Demo Sites
- This line item is a parent for all time allocation line items related to any/all Demo Sites built off the CEF B2B/B2C platforms (CEF-D).
- Time should not be directly allocated to this line item.
- Child Line Items are added at a feature level, and assigned to individuals working on that specific feature. These feature level items are not listed here, but should match the title of the feature level work item in Azure for CORE CEF (minus the bracketed CORE tag). If you are working on a feature for a demo site, and do not see that specific feature under the parent line item when allocating the time in EP, allocate it to NEEDS REALLOCATION.
20259 CEF-I Installer
- This line item is a parent for all time allocation line items related to the Installer (CEF-I).
- Time should not be directly allocated to this line item.
- Child Line Items are added at a feature level, and assigned to individuals working on that specific feature. These feature level items are not listed here, but should match the title of the feature level work item in Azure for CORE CEF (minus the bracketed CORE tag). If you are working on a feature for the Installer, and do not see that specific feature under the parent line item when allocating the time in EP, allocate it to NEEDS REALLOCATION.

- This line item is for the allocation of all time spent on updating the installer for the third quarter of 2022 (2022.3, 2022Q3, 2022-3, 2022_3, Q32022, etc.).
- Time spent building a specific feature of the Installer should NOT be logged to this line item. This line item is only for updating the Installer software within the specified quarter.
20265 CEF-O Operations
- This line item is a parent for all time allocation line items related to the Operations tasks for the CEF platform (CEF-O).
- Time should not be directly allocated to this line item.
- Child Line Items are categorized based on specific operations. If you are working on an operations task for CEF, and do not see the appropriate category under the parent line item when allocating the time in EP, allocate it to NEEDS REALLOCATION.

- This line item is a parent for all time allocation line items related to the documentation, research, and resolution of bugs in CORE CEF (Core Bug).

- Child Line Items are based on current quarter, similar to the structure in Azure. These quarterly items are closed at end of quarter, when the new quarter's line item is assigned. If you are working on a bug for CEF, and see multiple quarterly line items under the parent line item when allocating the time in EP, allocate it to the line item in the CURRENT QUARTER.
20246 2022.3 CORE CEF Regression Bugs
- This line item is for the allocation of all time spent on resolution of bugs for the third quarter of 2022 (2022.3, 2022Q3, 2022-3, 2022_3, Q32022, etc.).
- Time spent on work items in Azure that are of the type "Bug" or of the types "Task" or "QA Fail" with a parent work item that is of the type "Bug", should be logged here.

- This line item is a parent for all time allocation line items related to product documentation for CORE CEF.
- Time should not be directly allocated to this line item.
- Child Line Items are categorized based on specific types of documentation. If you are working on documentation for CEF, and do not see the appropriate category under the parent line item when allocating the time in EP, allocate it to NEEDS REALLOCATION.
20252 2022.3 Documentation – Deployment Guides
- This line item is for the allocation of all time spent on Deployment Guides for CEF for the third quarter of 2022 (2022.3, 2022Q3, 2022-3, 2022_3, Q32022, etc.).
- Allocations for this line item include the screen capture/video recording of the processes covered in the deployment guides, as well as the breaking of said videos into clips, the breaking of the process into steps, gathering images to match the process steps, and the committing the steps/content to documentation.
- The above actions should be allocated here at original creation, as well as modification after feedback.
- Reviewing the Deployment Guides to provide feedback, as well as testing the processes within the guides, should NOT be recorded to this line item.
20253 2022.3 Documentation – Features
- This line item is for the allocation of all time spent documenting features for CORE CEF for the third quarter of 2022 (2022.3, 2022Q3, 2022-3, 2022_3, Q32022, etc.).
- Allocations for this line item include the creation/modification/formatting/detailing of feature/user story work items in Azure, feature data in product BRDs, feature overviews in PRDs, and feature functionality specifications in FSDs.
- Grooming, auditing, actions in working sessions, planning, and researching features in Azure or Product Documents should NOT be logged to this line item.
20254 2022.3 Documentation – General
- This line item is for the allocation of all time spent on documentation of document related processes, for the third quarter of 2022 (2022.3, 2022Q3, etc.) that are outside of the stipulations for logging to the Deployment Guide and Feature line items in EP.
- Allocations for this line item may include formatting, grooming, auditing, and actions for miscellaneous documents for the CEF platform that are not considered Deployment Guides or Product Documents (i.e. Creating Master Docs, Modifying Document Templates, etc.).
20248 CORE CEF QA and Testing
- This line item is a parent for all time allocation line items related to the Testing and QA of all CEF B2B/B2C editions.
- Time should not be directly allocated to this line item.
- Child Line Items are based on current quarter. These quarterly items are closed at end of quarter, when the new quarter's line item is assigned. If you are working on QA/Testing of CEF, and see multiple quarterly line items under the parent line item when allocating the time in EP, allocate it to the line item in the CURRENT QUARTER.

- Time spent logging, reporting, and resolving bugs/issues that come from the QA and Testing process should NOT be logged to this line item.

- This line item is for administrative tasks, both internal and client facing, that are not client-billed, and involve CORE products/processes.
17573 Meetings
- This line item is for internal meetings related to the CORE products, team, and processes.
- Time in working sessions and/or paired programming should be logged to the line item associated with the feature being worked on, NOT the meetings line item.
